We know that the Gate of Amtar has to do with 39 Jathomite religious figures - they forged a mighty weapon to slay something of enormous power. Has something to do with the Lake of Steam, etc., but we don’t know all the details. We recall 40 people in the story, but somehow 1 escaped or something.
